What? WordCamp UK is the annual conference for users of WordPress, the leading open source web publishing platform.

Celebrated for its flexible architecture and extensive developer ecosystem, WordPress is an award winning content management system (CMS) that powers a growing number of high profile websites including that of the Prime Minister: Number10.gov.uk.

WordCamp UK attendees include some of the best developers and users of the WordPress platform in the UK, graphic designers, digital content creators and bloggers.

WordCamp UK combines informal presentations by experienced WordPress developers with debate and discourse around the latest developments in the global WordPress community. When? WordCamp UK is to be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July. Where? The second WordCamp UK will take place in Cardiff, the capital and largest city of Wales.

The venue for the conference is the Future Inn Cardiff Bay, situated near the city centre and minutes away from the vibrant dining and entertainment centre of Cardiff Bay's waterfront Mermaid Quay.

The Wales Millennium Centre, the Welsh National Assembly, Cardiff County Hall, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium and the main business community are all within a mile of the hotel.

Cardiff is well connected by rail, road and air, with the venue 12 miles away from Cardiff Airport.

Private sponsorship is available for individuals or groups who wish to contribute funds to the second WordCamp UK event. Publicity is optional for private sponsors who wish to support the event without receiving markeitng. Why sponsor WordCamp UK 2009? You will be able to connect your brand with influential bloggers and talented designers and developers involved with WordPress. We are looking for a small number of key sponsors and your marketing communicatonS will be targeted to a small but genuinely receptive audience. The audience This is the second WordCamp to be held in the UK and the first in Wales and is likely to attract a wide and varied audience of developers, bloggers, podcasters and designers made up of a range of professional and casual WordPress users.

Many attendees will be responsible for blogs and websites with traffic ranging from hundreds to many thousands of visits per month.
